Lauri came to yoga in 2001 and immediately connected with the magic of yoga: linking breath with movement not only transforms the body, but the mind and spirit. Coming from a dance, fitness and music background Lauri’s teaching style marries all three while keeping a keen eye on alignment so that her students learn and feel for themselves when the mind, body and soul are aligned, we find connectedness to ourselves and to others that transcends the corners of the mat or the walls of a studio. Lauri completed her 200-hr. House of Shanti teacher training and is certified through Yoga Alliance.
This class will guide you in a meditative flow incorporating sun salutations and variations of standing poses linked together. Class will focus on standing asanas, balance poses, arm balances and core followed by deep opening asanas. Attention on breath and alignment is incorporated along with sequencing designed to help create strength and flexibility in body and mind. Understanding of the sun salutations and how to modify poses on your own is important. Room is heated between 90-94 degrees.
